Fresh Skin Season

If you’ve been curious about the VI Peel® or Perfect Derma™ Peel, our Advanced Renewal Peel delivers the same kind of medium-depth resurfacing in a completely custom blend of exfoliating and brightening acids carefully chosen based on your skin's primary needs at the time of the visit. This multi-layered treatment allows for deeper resurfacing and collagen stimulation. Acids utilized include: TCA, Salicyclic, Lactic, Resorcinol and retinol boosters for accelerated peeling and recovery.

It’s designed for anyone who wants a real reset for their skin: stubborn sun spots, melasma and uneven tone, acne and post-breakout marks and pigmentation,  fine lines, rough texture, enlarged pores, or skin that has simply lost its glow. Your skin will look smoother,  brighter and more even.

What The Advanced Renewal Peel Can Treat

Uneven tone and rough texture

Enlarged pores

Dull or tired-looking skin

Moderate to severe pigmentation, melasma, and sun damage

Acne and post-acne scarring

Fine lines and early wrinkles

Our Advanced Renewal Protocol

Real resurfacing builds over time. Although you can opt for just 1 peel, most of our clients will choose our Advanced Renewal Protocol for a complete treatment.

The protocol includes a series of three customized peels, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Each treatment builds on the results of the last treatment, for the ultimate glow up and reset.

The protocol includes the TRUTH Treatment Systems post-care kit, which is designed to support healing, protect your fresh skin, and help you get the most from every peel.

Expert Hands Matter

A medium-depth peel is a medical treatment. At TRUE, every Advanced Renewal Peel is performed by a board-certified Nurse Practitioner, not handed off to a spa technician. Before choosing your blend, we assess your skin type, history, and current condition, then adjust strength and layering as we go. That clinical oversight lets us treat concerns like melasma and stubborn pigmentation safely, prep your skin properly beforehand, and manage your healing closely afterward. The result is a stronger, more effective peel than you’ll find at a typical facial bar, delivered with the judgment of a medical provider.

Peels versus Lasers?

Peels and lasers target many of the same concerns, but for a lot of patients a medical-grade peel is the smarter place to start:

  • Gentler on pigment. Peels resurface without heat, so they’re often a safer choice for melasma and medium-to-deep skin tones, where lasers carry a higher risk of rebound darkening.

  • Less downtime. Expect a few days of flaking rather than the longer healing that deeper laser resurfacing can require.

  • Better value. A full series of peels typically costs less than a single course of laser treatments.

  • Whole-face results. Peels refine tone, texture, and glow evenly across the entire face.

Lasers still have a role for deep wrinkles, significant scarring, and laxity. If your skin needs more than a peel can deliver, we’ll tell you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Advanced Chemical Peels in Oakbrook Terrace, IL

What is the Advanced Renewal Peel?

The Advanced Renewal Peel is a medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel performed by a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. We customize the blend of exfoliating and brightening acids at each visit based on your skin's primary needs.

How does it compare to the VI Peel or Perfect Derma Peel?

The Advanced Renewal Peel delivers the same kind of medium-depth resurfacing, with a few key differences.  Rather than a fixed formula, your blend is customized to your skin at the time of treatment. The acids utilized, their strengths and associated boosters will be custom. With our Advanced Renewal Protocol, your next treatment will build on your last, and we are able to change the blend depending on the outcomes of your previous peel. Our clients typically note improved outcomes with less side effects with our method.

What does a chemical peel treat?

The Advanced Renewal Peel targets sun spots, melasma, uneven tone, acne and post-breakout marks, fine lines, rough texture, enlarged pores, and dull skin.

Is a chemical peel safe for all skin tones?

Because peels resurface without heat, they are often a safer option than lasers for melasma and medium to deep skin tones. Your NP will assess your skin and history first and customize the strength of your peel accordingly.

Do chemical peels hurt?

Most patients feel mild tingling or warmth during application that fades quickly. The treatment is made more comfortable with a handheld fan. The treatment takes about 30-45 minutes.

What is the downtime after a chemical peel?

Your skin will feel tight, dry and be potentially red for the first 1-2 days, then visibly peel for several days, usually starting around day three for about 5-10 days, though most of the peeling is on days 3-5. We usually advise social downtime on days 3-5 however it will depend on your social/work life. Many clients will choose to get treated on a Wednesday or Thursday so they can peel (for the most part) over the weekend and return to work on Monday with socially manageable peeling.

When will I see results?

Once peeling is complete, typically within 7-14 days, skin looks smoother, brighter, and more even. Results continue to build with each peel in your series.

How many chemical peels will I need?

Many patients see their best results with a series of three peels spaced 4-6 weeks apart, which is why we created our Advanced Renewal Protocol. Although, your treatment plan may be different, this will depend on the state of your skin and your goals.

How do I care for my skin before and after a chemical peel?

We will give you thorough pre and post procedure instructions. Ideal skin prep includes the use of a routine retinol and mild acid (peel pads or exfoliatior 1x/week) for at least 2 weeks; fitzpatrick skin tones 3 and higher should use a melanin inhibitor as a part of their skincare regimen (niacinamide, hydroquinone, azelaic acid, alpha arbutin, resorcinol, vitamin C are examples) for 4 weeks prior to treatment. You should not shave/dermaplane, wax/pluck, or laser your face for 10 days prior. You should wait about 10-14 days after significant tanning to undergo a chemical peel. After your peel, you will follow specific post procedure care, avoiding sun/heat and makeup when indicated until after your peel is complete.

Who should not get a chemical peel?

Peels are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active cold sore or skin infection, or within six months of isotretinoin (Accutane) use. We review your full history during your consultation.

Should I get a chemical peel or laser treatment?

Peels are often the better first step for pigment, melasma, texture, and glow, with less downtime and lower cost. Lasers have the edge for deep wrinkles, significant scarring, and laxity. We will recommend what fits your skin and goals.

Should I get a peel before a special event?

Schedule your peel at least 2-3 weeks before your event so peeling is complete and your skin has time to settle. For a full series, start 3-4 months out.

Can I get a peel at the same time as my routine Botox appointment?

Generally yes, as long as you have gotten both a peel and neuromodulator at least once beforeheand seperately so you know the post procedure care and expectations. We routinely combine both treatments as studies have shown improved outcomes, we start with the peel and then complete your neuromodulator treatment.
