Do lip fillers hurt?
You may experience mild discomfort; we reduce this by using injectable numbing (dental block) , topical numbing (numbing cream), or a combination of both topical and injectable numbing as well as other comfort measures to ensure your experience is smooth and tolerable. Most of our patients are shocked to learn how comfortable and easy the procedure is.
What are pre and post procedure instructions?
Before your visit, we recommend avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days to reduce bruising. Avoid any dental work or vaccines for 4 weeks prior or 4 weeks after your treatment. Additionally, let us know if you have a history of cold sores as you may need pre-treatment with an anti-viral to prevent a flare. Afterward, avoid strenuous exercise, excess heat, and pressure on the lips for a couple of days. You'll receive full written pre- and post-care instructions when you book your appointment.
What if I am nervous and don't know what I need?
No worries at all - that is what we are here for. Our consultations are comfortable, relaxed and transparent. We will complete a holistic assessment, and discuss your goals. We assess your lip tissue and we always provide good-better-best options, sometimes dermal fillers aren't always the best option. If surgery is the best option (lip lift) , or a lip flip, we recommend it. Are lip fillers safe?

Can lip fillers be dissolved?
Yes - hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are modifiable utilizing an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. We can use this for elective dissolving if needed. We can even micro dissolve certain areas around the lips if filler has migrated while preserving the filler in your lips, our dissolving methods are generally not painful as we adequately numb our clients.

We use a wide range of fillers and for very specific reasons. We use Restylane, Revanesse Versa and RHA products and they all meet various client needs. The type of filler utilized will depend on your lip anatomy, goals for treatment and lip tissue characteristics.
Do I need to worry about lip filler migration?
Filler migration can happen, it is often technique dependent, placement dependent, or anatomical location dependent. What you generally see online are worse-case outcomes, and not typical. If migration does occur, we can generally spot dissolve the areas of migration without compromising the aesthetic outcome of the filler. Our approach focuses on restraint, precision, and long-term outcomes, not overcorrection.
What can I expect for recovery after a lip filler treatment?
You can expect mild bruising and swelling post-treatment, or potentially none at all! Everyone is different, however lips can be swollen and settling for the first two weeks, with the majority of swelling subsiding after the first 1-2 days. The true, final shape and volume is noted at about 2 weeks. Superficial lumps and bumps can be common but generally self-resolve within this period as the filler integrates. We always recommend holding off on judging your results until that 2-week mark, and we're happy to see you for a quick follow-up if anything looks asymmetric once you've healed, as this is generally a simple tweak.
